Bury Me

Lyrics

They say that when you die,

You’re lucky if you can.

Count all your friends,

On one of your dead hands.

I’ve been all around this world,

And I’ve seen so many kinds.

I’ve seen the one-eyed medicine man,

Leading the blind.

So, take me down to the sacred ground,

And lay my body down.

If no friends are to be found,

Then lay my body down.

Lay my body down

And just….bury me.

They say that when you die,

There’s one thing you can trust.

Spirits may take your soul,

But your bones will turn to dust,

I’ve been all around this world,

And I’ve seen so many kinds.

I’ve seen the TV preacher man,

Sell eternal life.

So, take me down to the sacred ground,

And lay my body down.

If no spirits come around,

Then lay my body down.

Lay my body down,

And just….bury me.
